Info Post
although I would never consider myself conservative in any way (I don´t even like pearls!), last saturday I realized once again what traditional of a person I am. it was in this little gift store where strangely they had already set up a great variety of christmas decoration of all sorts- candles, stars with red glitter on them, figurines of little children ice skating on a frozen pond..
and despite the fact that at the moment christmas still is too far away to really think of anything decoratio wise, I just had to touch a little reindeer and all the red-glittered wooden glory put a smile upon my face.
I guess christmas is especially destined for all kinds of traditions and I really love winter- taking donouts and a can filled with hot coffee on a walk through the freshly fallen snow is a dearly loved moment that returns every year.
also, I love mulled wine in company with freshly baked cookies- oh, I love the scent so much that I consider baking perfectly worth it only because of that lovely smell in the air. and the carols, those quirky movies that are aired every year but, in contrast to becoming boring, give me the warmth of sweet familiarity.
it is christmas that puts a spell upon everything that in a crowded city I do not realize the hurry and business but the lights and scents that fill the air when I am straying around with a steeming gingerbread flavoured latte macchiato in my hand.
I guess, christmas might be the best example for my deep love of tradition but thinking about it, with the beginning of every new season there are special things I am looking forward to do related to that time of the year, that can well be classified as my personal traditions.
I love spending my summer days in street cafés, with some books, a notebook and a pencil; the following nights bring long conersations and even more wine. I go barelegged and barefoot.
in autumn I realize I am very sensitive for nature and its colours and although I am more the coffee addict, I appreciate some tea then. I even do chestnut handicrafts.
I realize that being traditional like an old lady makes me a very happy girl because it adds so much heart and joy to everything.
in that context: how thrilled I am to spend a very traditional halloween this friday!
